REGISTRATIONS

How to register?

All registrations are made on www.mso-chrono.ch.  Your registration will take you no more than 5 minutes and you will immediately receive a confirmation by e-mail.

Who can register?

Participation is open to all, licensees and not licensees, subject to a minimum age:

  • 18 years old for the Ultrafondo and Granfondo
  • 16 years old for the Mediofondo and E-Fondo routes with parental authorization

Each participant must benefit from his own insurance (accident insurance and civil liability), covering personal injury and property damage while in Swiss territory (see Art. 3 Safety and liability).

I’m a minor, do I need a parental authorisation?

Only the Mediofondo and E-Fondo routes are authorized from 16 years old with parental authorization which must be provided when collecting the bibs.

The BambinoFondo children’s race is open for children born between 2007 and 2017. Registration acts as parental authorization.

Is a medical certificate or a license required to complete the race?

No, the license and / or the medical certificate is not mandatory to participate in cyclosportive events in Switzerland. However, the organization strongly recommends that participants see a doctor to confirm their ability to perform this type of effort.

How to be sure to be registered correctly?

Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email. You can also find your registration by logging into your MSO Chrono account.

I received a discount or free code, where should I enter it?

When you register on the MSO Chrono site, an input field opens under the category of your choice (once the category has been selected). This is where you will enter the free or discount code. You can then check the validity of your code. If the code is valid, it will subtract the amount of the voucher from your invoice.

What does my registration include?

  • A “Welcome Bag” with various goodies from partners
  • A Finisher medal
  • One L’Échappée beer at Welcome Village and one L’Échappée beer at the Finisher Village
  • A post-race meal
  • Access to all refreshment points
  • A personalized bib (for any registration before Sunday August 1, 2021)
  • Timing and classification (scratch + by category)
  • A sticker of the route profile
  • Route guidance (signage and staff)
  • The security service (motorcycles) and first aid

What is the #fastandfemale project?

#fastandfemale is a promotional project which aims to promote women cycling. One of the measures is the promotion of women in cyclosportives. It is with this common goal that the Tour des Stations and #fastandfemale have joined forces to offer an offer of 30% off all registrations of women, members of the association, on the route of their choice. Just register as a member on the platform here and then you will receive a promotional code that you can use during the registration process.

Are there official tour operators who offer Tour des Stations packages?

What happens with the accessories ordered during registration?

During the registration process, you can check options and pay their fees directly. The options can be collected at the Welcome Village at Espace Saint-Marc in Le Châble during the bib collection on:

  • Thursday August 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday August 6, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday August 7, 2021 from 5 a.m.
OPTION MAXI FLEX

What is the MAXI FLEX option when registering?

The MAXI FLEX option is a guarantee of flexibility to choose when registering. Thanks to this option, for an amount of CHF 9.-, you will be able, without charge or proof, from the time of your registration and until the morning of the race to:

  • Change route
  • Transfer your bib to a third person
  • Postpone your registration to the following year

Is it possible to change the route after registration?

If you have subscribed to the MAXI FLEX option this is possible free of charge. Otherwise an amount of CHF 5.- will be requested for any change (in addition to the price difference between the routes).

Is it possible to transfer my bib to a third person?

If you have subscribed to the MAXI FLEX option this is possible free of charge. Otherwise no request will be processed.

Is it possible to transfer my registration to the following year if I am not able to participate this year?

Only if you have subscribed to the MAXI FLEX option. Otherwise no request will be processed.

BIBS

Where and when can the bibs be collected?

Bibs can be collected at Espace Saint-Marc in Le Châble (Route de Mauvoisin 45):

  • Thursday August 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Friday August 6, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday August 7, 2021 from 5:00 am

What documents are needed and who can collect the bibs?

Each participant must come and collect their bib in person. Exceptionally and if registration is complete, the group manager (club president) or a colleague may collect the bib by presenting:

  • the registration confirmation letter
  • a copy of the identity document of the person concerned

When will the race number be issued?

Race numbers will be sent out a few days before the event and will be distributed according to the sporting information we have been given. Your personal race number will be available a few days before the event on your MSO Chrono account.

What is the Welcome Village and what can I find there?

The Welcome Village is the place for the bib collection and exhibitors village. A panel of major brands will present their latest bikes and accessories news, allowing participants to equip themselves before setting off for the big effort. You will also find many activities there and something to eat in a summer vibe!

MATERIAL

What types of equipment are not allowed on the race?

  • Any time trial bike
  • Extenders
  • Lenticular wheels

Is there any mandatory material to have on race day?

Each participant must have with him / her over the entire race and throughout the duration of the event:

  • a rigid helmet, with chinstrap attached,
  • a mobile phone with a charged battery,
  • a bib and a road book with the emergency number,
  • lighting: white front headlight and red rear headlight
  • a hydration system (water bottle or hydration bag).

Is the E-Fondo route also possible by road bike?

No, it is only possible to ride with a mountain bike or a gravel bike

BEFORE RACE

How do I get to Le Châble and Verbier?

Le Châble and Verbier are located in Valais in the heart of Europe, just 3 hours by car or train from Lyon, Milan and Zurich, and quickly connected to the airports of Geneva, Milan and Zurich.

Two main options are recommended:

  • Park in Verbier and reach the start of Le Châble by bike (only 8km downhill) or by cable car (free with your bib)
  • Park in Le Châble and after the race find your car while going down from Verbier by bike (only 8km downhill) or by cable car (free with your bib)

Where can I rent or repair a bicycle?

In Verbier : bike shops

RACE D-DAY

Where is the start and finish line of the race?

  • Starting point: Le Châble, Route de Mauvoisin
  • Place of arrival: Verbier, Rue de la Poste

Will there be a different starting group and how are the group defined?

The groups will be defined according to the estimated sports performances. The number of group and departure times will be announced later.

I want to race with a friend but we are not in the same starting group, what to do?

The group will be assigned by the organizer and cannot be changed.

What are the departure times for the different routes?

  • 04h00 Departure Ultrafondo
  • 06h00 Departure Marmotte Granfondo
  • 08h00 Departure Mediofondo
  • 09h00 Departure E-Fondo

The exact times of the starting group will be communicated later.

Is it possible to leave a personal bag and collect it after the race in Verbier?

On race day, your personal belonging will be transported between Le Châble and Verbier. Please stick the label corresponding to your bib number received in the bib kit and drop it off at the Espace Saint-Marc departure area, Route de Mauvoisin 45, before the race. You will collect your bag from the Finisher Village in Verbier.

Is it possible to leave a bag of food and collect it at one of the refreshments on the course?

This option is only possible for Ultrafondo participants and must be checked during the registration process. The bag must be left when the bibs are collected with your bib number. Your personal supplies will be transported to Vercorin. Please note that the bag must be made of disposable material and will not be brought back to Verbier after the race.

Will the road be closed to traffic during the race?

No, the race takes place on roads open to traffic. Accordingly, participants must strictly adhere to Federal Road Traffic Law (LCR) and comply with the instructions of the race management and staff.

Is it possible to have motorized assistance or a private following vehicle during the race?

Motorized assistance or private following vehicles on the course are strictly prohibited.

What happens if a rider withdraws / is eliminated?

If a participant wishes to quit, he must report to one of the checkpoints set up by the Organizer (Crans-Montana, Vercorin, Hérémence, Nendaz or la Tzoumaz). He must then come forward to the person in charge of the post, who withdraws his number and tells him the means of repatriation. Anyone abandoning outside the control posts must immediately report their abandonment to the race director using the emergency number indicated on the bib. Repatriation is independent and free (with its bib) for RegionAlps trains and the Verbier-le Châble cable car.

Are there any time limits or time barriers?

For all routes, the time barriers are as follows:

  • Crans-Montana: 11:30 am
  • Vercorin: 2:00 p.m.
  • Hérémence: 4:15 p.m.
  • Nendaz: 6:45 p.m.
  • La Tzoumaz: 7:30 p.m.
  • Col de la Croix-de-Cœur: 8:30 p.m.

AFTER RACE

Where and when will the official awards ceremony take place and what are the categories?

The ceremony will take place at the Finisher Village on rue de la Poste in Verbier. The times will be communicated later.

The categories are as follows:

Where can I collect my photos after the race?

You can order your photos directly on our partner’s page www.sportograf.com. Note that you can benefit from a preferential rate by pre-ordering your photos when registering.

ACCOMPANYING PERSONS

How can my accompanying persons come to the finish in Verbier on the day of the race?

The recommended option is to come by public transport. For those coming by car, we recommend leaving the vehicles at Le Châble station and taking the cable car to Verbier.

How can my accompanying persons come to the Croix-de-Cœur on the day of the race?

On the day of the race, the Croix-de-Coeur pass is closed to traffic all day. We advise accompanying persons to come by cable car from Verbier or from La Tzoumaz to Savoleyres, or for the more athletic, to discover Les Ruinettes.

Can my accompanying persons come on the entire route?

The accompanying persons can come and encourage you on the race by respecting the road signs and traffic restrictions. Only the Col de la Croix-de-Coeur and the Foret Verte section are closed to traffic. We would like to point out, however, that cars must not in any way interfere with cyclists, must exercise vigilance and that no private following cars are allowed.

VOLUNTEERS

How can I volunteer on the Tour des Stations?

The Tour des Stations is above all a unique adventure that is lived through the smiles of the volunteers!

More than ten different sites along the way, a great atmosphere and of course gifts and a dinner are offered to thank you for your involvement. There will be something for everyone from Thursday August 5 to Saturday August 7, with varying tasks and schedules.
